I dont understand this... How will this be paid for? Clearly the US has a major problem with cost of tuition for Colleges & Universities. To address that issue you need to realize that there is NO reason for the Universities to become competitive in regards to cost because they are not operating in a free market society. Why? Because the govt will throw you a check to go attend any school you get into. If we eliminated Student loans, or atleast put limiters on the grant or loan money (it would be painful at first) cost of tuition would begin to drop across the board which would be better for all and this country. Simply put, when a day comes that 40,000 people at a College can not pay the 20k a year to attend it the College will have to lower the price of admission/tuition. Colleges and Unviersities are essentially given blank checks by the Feds..why wouldnt they charge an arm and leg for a Liberal Arts degree in Leisure Studies. The whole system is a joke. Want cheaper education? Stop letting the govt subsidize it through student loans that get approved for north of 200k and leave students in horrific debt while the Universities count the pennies. news.yahoo/obama-proposes-idea-two-free-years-community-college-012142866.html
