I dont understand why guys are advertising for musicians to jam - TopicsExpress

I dont understand why guys are advertising for musicians to jam with who are obviously metal but are so uber specific in the type of music they want to play, it rules out all but fans of one specific band. I saw an ad for a person who wants to put a band together that only plays stuff like Pantera, another who wants to play just Tesserect style am I missing something? It seems that the best bands are formed because all involved have different tastes in Metal. I like almost all forms of Metal and feel like the music of the creative melting pot should take first thought before trying to be like say Metallica. The song comes first then the direction of the band. I certainly believe when forming a band one should have a style in mind but that should always come second. Just my humble opinion.
