I enjoyed my season of prayer this morning and prayed for the elders of my church and their families and members of our church family. Then I read chapters 6-10 of Second Chronicles. In his prayer of dedication of the temple he had built, Solomon made provision for Gentile believers. He prayed, “concerning the foreigner who is not from Your people Israel…when they come and pray toward this house, then hear from heaven” 2 Chronicles 6:32-33. The choice of the nation of Israel to be the bloodline and lineage of the Savior was to provide a Savior for the whole world. The prophet Isaiah would echo this sentiment, “For my house shall be called a house of prayer for all the peoples” Isaiah 56:7. God’s choice of Israel was so He could bless the world with a Savior.
