I failed again. Ive have written many tributes to many people Ive admired. I can write long, wordy posts on just about anyone who inspires me, but, for, some reason, I get writers block when I try writing about one of my heroes, John Lennon. I geared up this year, posting quotes of his for the last week, trying to motivate myself, reading many articles, to try to find a slant no one has written about before, but, here I am again, nothing, except a handful of quotes. When I write these tributes, I try to find something different or something relevant, something that brings back the person through the words or deeds relating to an issue or current event. John Lennon was a complicated man. He was not perfect, he had his flaws. But, for some reason, since I started writing here, he has been a source of inspiration. My cover picture is a quote of his, my profile pic, also a reminder of Lennon, my end of the evening peace quote a nod to this man, who is admired the world over. And, yet, and yet, I am unable to write a true tribute. Maybe because I can relate to his upbringing, feeling abandoned by birth parents, an absent father who never seemed to be a factor in his sons life, being raised by a relative, in my case, my grandmother. Maybe because this mans honesty so frightens the shy, quiet voice within me, who only wishes I can speak the words of Lennon, but never quite being sure of myself. At times, I thought he was arrogant, at other times, I thought he was one of the wisest men who lived on this pale, blue dot. Maybe, one of these days, Ill be able to give him a true tribute and not just write nonsense that no one but me can truly understand....
