I feel like I just had a quintessential Bali experience... I was on my scooter driving west on the main road and a policeman pulls me over right by the main temple for going the wrong way on the street. Hes yelling and acting angry, Im polite and acting like a confused tourist. He asks for my license and as I pull out my wallet and were both looking at the license I was about to pull out, a pink flower drops from a tree above and lands (and stays) right on the wallet. I look up at the policeman and smile, and instantly his demeanor goes from stern to joyful and he tells me oh thats good luck! keep it.... keep in your wallet! I stuff it in with my money and he finishes the conversation by saying in a friendly voice, ok so go back and take the right street. I agree and drive away laughing and smiling.
