I feel sad about the human race and their selfishness. I have been asked to help find homes for three horses who are owned by someone in a terrible situation. It was reasonably easy to re-home the young paint and the young TB. But there is also a wonderful sound 25 year old mare that no one wants. Why does the horse HAVE to jump, do shows, barrel race....the old ones are just as important as the young ones. An old grade mare with arthritis is just as important as the most highly bred Lusitano- in my humble opinion. Just to be in the presence of a horse is good enough for me- though I really do love to ride. They ALL deserve to live out their old age in peace and comfort. The only person this does not apply to is Sharon Zimmer and she knows why
