I feel very strongly about aiding the Middle East in the fight against ISIS (ISIL). Im only writing this to give people awareness of a very critical world issue. If you dont want a long read [no one likes long reads], or you cant be bothered to care about global matters and the wellbeing of others, dont worry about reading the following. Ill jump into things. Firstly, you may think that ISIS isnt a world issue. Youre poorly mistaken. ISIS is funded globally by unknown donators across the world. Not only that, but during the protests in Sydney, 2012, the ISIS flag was raised along with signs stating Behead those who insult Islam/the prophet. Its closer to home than you think. I know for a fact that ISIS is a minority, islamic extremists are a minority. There are 1.8 billion followers of Islam, and it is becoming the fastest growing religion in the world. I know first hand they can be lovely people, their religion doesnt define them as aggressive. The terrorists are labelled extremists for a reason. The word itself, extreme. Theyre fanatical radicals. Its not because of their religion that they have become this, but by those who have raised them or indoctrinated them as fanatics. Just because the Westboro Baptist Church are royal cunts doesnt mean all Catholics and Christians are, right? ISIS is a serious threat. From my own personal guess, after studying a map detailing the land they control, theyre around 10 times the size of Israel. Theyre believed to have anywhere from 80,000 to 100,000 soldiers. Not militia. These men are trained murderers, not housekeepers given guns. ISIS is so large that it is no longer considered a terrorist group, but a terrorist state. Recently you may have heard of the beheading of a journalist. This crime whilst recorded, is but a grain of sand in comparison to the other crimes they have committed. A majority of which have been recorded but otherwise ignored by media. Recently they captured 200 soldiers fighting against ISIS, forced them to march in their underwear in a remote desert. Afterwards they laid them down and brutally slaughtered every single one of them. All of it was recorded. Ive seen only a quarter of the footage before I exited the website. I dont watch it because I enjoy it. I hate seeing it. I watch it so that I am aware of the monsters this world we live in has created. The 200 soldiers are not the only ones to lose their lives. ISIS is systematically executing anyone who doesnt support them. People are living in fear the very moment you read this, and some of them right now are fighting for their lives, and others are being executed. All the while you sit in the comfort of your home, in a country blessed with good fortune. ISIS is uploading a majority of this. Theyre taking photos and videos of beheadings, lynches and some people have been crucified on crosses. This will continue to happen as ISIS goes ahead with their plans if prevention doesnt happen. Their goal is to unite all of the countries in the Middle East, from the Mediterranean in the west, to the far east. ISIS is not only utilising men as soldiers but children too. Kidnapped children are being forced to fight for them. Remember where you were at the age of 12. Finishing year 6 or beginning year 7, right? It was a good year for me. Ive got some good memories. These kids? When they grow up, if they survive everything first, the only memories theyll have is of war, kidnapping and being forced to take the lives of others. Its not just the men that are suffering, or the children. There has been reported surges of crimes against women, from kidnappings to rape. Theyre being oppressed. The suffering is experienced by everyone currently in the Middle East, whether from the fear of invasion by ISIS or currently under occupation by ISIS. For the first time in a long time, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and various other countries may begin working together to prevent ISIS. If these countries are willing to work with Israel, of which Israel is a country theyve never gotten along with, then it goes to show people need to get their butt into gear. When al-Qaeda opposes ISIS, its time people realise just what the innocent lives of those living in the Middle East are dealing with. Now before you call me out on something minuscule that I got wrong, hold your horses. Dont be a twat. Im not an expert, but Ive seen the photos and video footage. Ive seen what theyve done, and that enough is for me to justify why I believe there needs to be something done. Im not asking people do to anything with this post. Im just making awareness, and I know Ill get some details wrong, or you may have a different opinion. Those things dont matter. People are dying, people are suffering, and not many people in the first world care. I just want awareness. The more people who are aware of the real extent of ISIS, the more people will want to stop this. Maybe that way, itll work. Share this if you want too, or not. Help bring some awareness.
