I finally realized the smell in my kitchen wasnt from the cat box - TopicsExpress

I finally realized the smell in my kitchen wasnt from the cat box or an animal Vampire brought home. I found that the pilot light on my oven was off, and I couldnt get it to light. A man from Atlanta Gas came out Monday, and couldnt get it lit either. When he went to turn off the gas outside, it hadnt been turned off or on since the end of 1993, when I moved in, and it mal-functioned, so then it was leaking gas slightly at the meter! He had call in another man with equipment to take it apart to fix it. I wanted to get a picture, but they didnt want it because of fear of a spark from the camera. I have been thinking about having the gas turned off anyway. My furnace started leaking years ago, so I turned off the gas to it. Parts of my stove have been breaking down, and I was down to having a gas bill for the sake of a single burner. Almost my whole gas bill was service charges. But poor Vampire has lost her hot spot over the pilot light for the burner that was still working. But recently, even though the pilot light was on, I had to light the burner with a match. Vampire misses her hot spot.
