I first met Nicholas over 10 years ago when we served together on the national disabled members committee of our union, Amicus. We later worked on the executive committee of the Labour Party Disabled Members Group, now named Disability Labour. For the last 3 years I was secretary and Nicholas chair, he always gave me tremendous support and the most sound and sensible advice. For the past year Nick worked tirelessly through the structures of the Labour Party to ensure that the next Labour government is committed to disability rights. I have never met a person more devoted to disabled people and improving their lives. Nicholas my comrade and friend I will miss you terribly, and pledge to you that I will work twice as hard to ensure that what you would have loved to have seen on 7th May next year, a Labour government committed to improving the lives of disabled people everywhere becomes a reality.
