I generally respect most police force personnel, but situations like this show that the political class can empower the police to act against the public and then get away with and cover up resulting unlawful abuses. They also seem to apply a dehumanising rent a mob label to all peaceful protestors and, it seems, bystanders too. Its disturbing to hear what the government and police are planning in my home city of Brisbane this November too. I havent kept up with that for most of the past year. :(
