I get asked a lot how is Steve doing with his {EXTREME} ADD since so many of my friends either have the same struggles or know someone who does. In a word? Fini. Its solved. Hes getting straight As and I dont even read Progress Book frequently, all assignments are turned in and hes acing tests. What changed? 2 things: Diet which we discovered by accident and the right natural supplements. A new Dr. Oz episode actually explained why our diet works, the episode was on sugar and Alzheimers. (ALL sugar, so the usual suspects of breads and snacks ~ many ADD kids are gluten-free and that was a good start but didnt go far enough for us to even see improvement, but also tubers like potatoes and carrots and large volumes of fruits, which we were getting through healthy snacking and smoothies). An MD that commented on the website episode sees the same positive benefit to following this way of eating for Dementia as well. I think with Steve (who knows Im posting this, he is more than willing to help another child) being such a DRAMATIC and complete turn-around sugar in all forms has a much farther reaching effect on brain function than just late-in-life illnesses/diseases. The diet thing was accidental, I read The Metabolism Miracle and that is MOST DEFINITELY the solution for me personally with my weight and energy, it even explained scientifically why I gained weight every week I went strict vegan. So out with all tubers and breads (for the most part of course, not as a hard rule) and in with kale salads, nuts and homemade oil/vinegar dressings as staples. (My kids will suck it up and eat anything but Im TRYING to make super clean delicious) The supplements? A cup of coffee in the morning with 2T of coconut oil and a teaspoon of NuStevia (they removed the bitter from Stevia) (most ADD/ADHD meds have a caffeine component) Power Thought and Neuro Optimizer, find those on Amazon. When I take them I feel like Bradley Cooper in Limitless LOL Now Steve does too. Of course he eats fruits. But vegetables reign supreme and salads...probably 4-5 times a week with healthy fats which we all know support the brain. All fish is wild caught not farm raised, farm raised fish are fed corn, he probably has Lox & bagels (bagel thins) once or twice a week, but we do try to have several meatless meals a week as well as a few carb-free/low carb but by no means is our life sugar/carb free. Carbs are healthy and necessary too, in balance. The Metabolism Miracle can explain all that. Message me if you need anything else. Good luck! BTW Steve approves of this message. :)
