I get the feeling ISIS is running some kind of gambit. Remember Peter Kassig, the former Army Ranger turned aid worker they said was next for a beheading? Weve heard nothing about him for months now. Now al-Baghdadi is releasing these taunting voice recordings about how well theyre doing, practically begging America to send in ground troops and they have been for awhile now. Why? They dont have a prayer against the U.S. military in a stand-up fight, but for some reason, they need us to cross that line. Like theres an ace up their sleeve they cant play til we do. And Kassig? Either theyre waiting for a primed moment when his execution will send all the dominoes flying where they want them, or hes going to go full Patty Hearst and become one of their most high-profile convert fighters. Im sure theyd offer him quite a status for sharing his Ranger training with these fuzzy, murdering rapists. Theyre holding out for something, maybe a tactical advantage we dont know about, or more likely a political advantage we dont know about. I dont know what it is but I smell a plan.
