I got home from a home visit yesterday to find my girls piling up on a little strange girl. Before i asked a thing, one of my loudest girls told me, the strange girl was looking for a Job as a house help. I immediately started analyzing the girl and asked myself, who would offer such a a girl a job. She looked dirty, short and chubby though, Putting on a see through thing i couldnt make out if it was supposed to be a dress or a womans blouse., a red petticoat that ladies put inside was showing outside, underwear showing, looked hungry and miserable. i started asking her questions that got confused answers from a very small voice. However this is what i gathered. Her name is Msiyana(meaning you will leave each other), aged 14. father and mother divorced and each remarried somewhere else. she was left with granny who chased her away, saying it was what her parents wanted by leaving her. she went in search for house help jobs and was hired by a family that ill treated her, for instance she was not paid, and they would pour water on her bed. she run away to leave with her uncles family (mothers brother), and the uncle raped her, she went to her mum, and her mum chased her upon arrival saying her presence might destroy her marriage. so she was choosing her marriage over her daughter. i decided to take her to the police station where they took her details and asked if i could keep her for the night so that the next day they should start doing their police work. I bathed her, gave her clean clothes, fed her and gave her a place to sleep. I woke up hundred times in the night anxious and all, i went to check on her first thing this morning she was still sleeping, i decided not to disturb her and started doing my household chores, went to check on her again and found she had left....
