I got into a conversation about Native stuff with someone today. She started to argue this reverse racism thing when talking about some agreements that tribes made with businesses. Two things were very wrong about where she was trying to take this conversation(and she could not understand why she was wrong). Firstly, reverse racism isnt real. Racism is racism. Secondly, this wasnt an issue of race. This was a tribal Nation, negotiating an agreement with another entity. Tribal identity is political and existed before the concept of a Native American race was ever introduced. Shell get it eventually (I hope).
