I got into the whole area of clerical abuse because I admire a man called Kevin Flanagan who is fighting his brothers corner. Then I was made aware of my aunt Esthers full story (or as full as we can find) in the Magdalene laundry, now Im in it up to my neck. Its breaking my heart on a daily basis and I wouldnt have it any other way. I cannot begin to describe the joy I feel about being friends with people like Kevin, with Jane Clodagh, Adrian, Irene, I even found a long lost cousin in Maureen Bean Considine Mari Tatlow Steed, PJ Coogan and so many more. Im proud and grateful to be in association with these people who are fighting the cause so well and so effectively. Now in the wake of the publication of the Tuam Babies burial site (I wont dignify it by calling it a grave) we need all the outrage and fury we can muster. Ireland must STAND UP. We all knew that abuses took place but to find 796 childrens bodies shoved unceremoniously into a septic tank is the outside of enough. Its the tip of the iceberg because we can all guess there are many more such dumpsites around the country. Please speak up. Please do not let the catholic church away with these crimes. If you are a catholic, this will not compromise your faith, surely it would be more in keeping with the teachings of Jesus to speak out against such injustices and atrocities. Please do not let these children down. They had nothing in life, please give them dignity in death. Thank you.
