I got whoopins with switches, extension cords, belts, etc. Anyone who truly knows me also knows my mother loves me dearly. Enough with people making it seem like the rod of correction is child abuse. Proverbs 13:24 NIV says Whoever spares the rod hates their children, but the one who loves their children is careful to discipline them. The fact that my mother whipped my behind kept me from growing up to be a menace to society and become a product of the neighborhood I am originally from (Oak Cliff). My mother whipped me in love and as a man I look back and appreciate it. In my opinion, (some) children these days need an old fashion butt whoopin. The reason the disrespect level is high in our society amongst some children is some parents do not raise their children in the admiration and reverence of The Lord, and also whoop that butt (in love).
