I gotta say the Blurred Lines = Rape Culture thing is stupid as shit. Sorry. Sue me. But the idea that this song promotes rape culture devalues anything that anyone has to say about the issue. For that matter EVERY song EVER made by a man about a woman is rape culture. Seriously. Lets dig up Marvin Gaye and lock him up. Lets arrest Prince. Lets dig or James Brown. Lets arrest Al Green. DAngelo had better get his attorneys too. Lets just lock up EVERY man that has EVER written a song about a woman. And while we are at it, to be fair, lets lock up every woman thats ever wrote a song about a woman. I mean, we have to be equal here. Sometimes people go too far and just do whatever they can to throw shade. The kid had a song that everyone liked until they wanted to blame him for stealing it from Marvin Gaye (something I think is stupid also). So now everyone and their mother has to launch into using words that make you a villain if you try to defend. Well, I dont particularly wince at being someones villain. If some shit is stupid its just stupid. Ugh. You can devalue a position by removing critical thinking from your platform. But alas, this is the way of the interweb and it breeds stupid. p.s. Im not much of a fan of Robin Thicke either way. I just think its stupid.
