I grew up in a Baptist church and was saved when I was 12 years old. My brother Frank walked down from the choir loft and led me to my lord and savior, I will always be thankful for such a loving brother. But you know I really was not a bad person, hadnt shot anyone, robbed banks, just a typical country boy. Luckily because we have moved so many times (witness protection program) I have enjoyed being in several churches. I have served a lot of positions in the church, recreation director, chairman of the building program, chairman of the trustees, deacon, and learned not to say yes and not raise my hand, because you can be at church every night of the week. I learned a lot about the ongoing of the church. Most of that time what I heard from the pulpit was you are like a spider hanging by a thread over the firey furnaces of Hell. I was in my mid twenties before I heard a preached tell me from the pulpit that, God loves you and he will always be there for you, no matter what! We Christians have a loving God and a Loving Religion. I have never been exposed to Islam and their religion until 9-11 and up to the present time. As Allen Jackson says, Im not sure I knew the difference between Iraq and Iran. Everyone tells me Islam is a peace loving religion. I dont know how a loving God can direct you to go kill innocent people with airplanes, cut off people heads, blow up people in the name of any religion. I guess I have come to believe it is really a Holy war against Christians or anyone who does not believe as they do. I could be wrong but that seems to be the goal. If you dont believe as I do, I need to kill you. Probably if we went back several hundred years, we would probably be organizing Holy Crusades. It may be time for all of us to wake up, or maybe I just need to learn more about something I dont understand! Jane Parker, We use to sit on my front steps, we did not have a front porch, and discuss these things and figure out what the problem was. Of for the good ole days.
