I grew up in a compound house to know one man who was a messenger - TopicsExpress

I grew up in a compound house to know one man who was a messenger at the Bank of Ghana. As per what he later told me, he got into the Bank of Ghana with barely a sixth form leavers certificate. He was connected by his mentor who was then a labourer at the same bank. Over the years, this man has grown from a messenger to one of the top and influential workers at the Bank of Ghana. At the time when the bank sacked over a 1000 workers, his job was still intact. There have been times when he was called back from his leave to work because his manager found no one who delivered the level of quality that he did. Upon further probing into the life of this man, I was told one thing characterised him - his character. He is so humble and down-to-earth that he would say please to a little boy. Where a BSc., MSc., and a Ph.D., couldnt take him, character did. Now, I dont mean to say education isnt important. Education is one of the most important tools in the 21st century. But what I mean to say is education isnt enough. Having a BSc., MSc., and/or a Ph.D. is not enough to get you to the top. Character is what will distinguish you from the crowd. It is in our own interest to develop the right character partnering with the Holy Spirit. To your education, add CHARACTER!
