I guess it was bound to happen sooner or later. Got hit by a car this afternoon on my bike. Sadly, it was completely avoidable. The most common bike/car accident there is happens when the bike is going straight, and a car wants to turn right. Rather than allow the bike to pass first, they cut the bike off and turn. Luckily this woman was only turning into her driveway, so she wasnt going that fast. We collided, I took a spill across her driveway, and my elbow got a bit beat up. I didnt anticipate her turning, because she didnt turn her blinker on until she was already turning--not that it wouldve made a difference. Please, if you ever find yourself in this situation when youre driving, yield to the cyclist. Those few seconds you have to wait so we can pass is not worth risking anyone getting hurt.
