I guess now I can talk about it. Today, July 25, 2014 my step-dad is going to be sentenced to prison. Im not sure of the length of the sentence, but I do know its been really difficult on my mother and the rest of my family. Im not getting into the specifics, but Ive been feeling really alone lately. Not having your father there for the last two years after knowing him for almost all your life; its just difficult. Not having him there for your graduation, not having him there for Christmases, birthdays, new years, etc... is emotionally and mentally draining. This man raised me and my 4 siblings as his own children. To see something tragic happen, is just gut and heart wrenching. Ive kept this bottled up for years. Because I didnt know how to deal with it, I lost amazing girlfriends and some friends. But whatever, Im just doing my best to stay focused on work and getting into post-secondary. So this is me.
