I guess there was a moment or two where I possibly cracked some subtle semblance of a smile. I understand that, without the laughter track, the pauses are unnatural and so that additional awkwardness generated by silence is not genuine - but why are we still filming shows in front of live studio audiences who apparently laugh at nearly every sentence and, in doing so, tell us when to laugh also? It just all seems so false to me.
