I had Madame for both freshman and sophomore year. To be honest, I used to hate French and was never any good at it, but she was the first French teacher I had that made the class fun and I couldnt believe I was actually finally starting to understand French. Madame would always say how she wanted to steal my hair and put it on her own head or that my outfits looked like they came straight out of pinterest. Its crazy how far just a simple compliment can go. She would really go out of her way for her students. From ordering bagels for our class, to all those movie days, shed make even the shyest of students crack a smile. Me and her would obsess about makeup and starbucks and hair and getting our eyebrows done and fashion together. Shed always call me up to the front of the class to play with her hair. She may have been in her mid twenties, but she was a teenager just like us on the inside. I think she taught me the most valuable lesson that youll ever learn in highschool; to not care about what others think of you. She was this crazy, weird, hilarious teacher and she did not care one bit if anyone judged her. And that takes true courage. She told my class that no matter where you go in life; highschool, a work place, etc., theres always going to be someone who doesnt like you or theres going to be people judging you. But you just have to look past that. You cant please everyone. Because at the end of the day, your own happiness is what truly matters. Madame had a thing for calling us her baby angels, just because she liked how it sounded in french. Now shes our bébé ange.
