I had a chance to visit Vice Chanceller Dr Usman Ali Issani and some of the students of Iqra University, Karachi. The Iqra University is a private research university primarily located in residential area of Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan.[1] The university has additional campuses inIslamabad and Quetta as well. Founded as Asian Management Institute (AMI) in 1988 by a group of Karachi-based industrialists, the university was renamed as Iqra University after granted university status in 2002 by HEC. The university offers undergraduate, post-graduate, anddoctoral studies programmes in engineering, film studies, management sciences,administration, and related social and natural sciences disciplines. It is one of the notable private institution of higher learning and currently ranked in among top-ten institution for business category by the HEC in 2012.[3] In addition, the university is noted as being the largest employer of doctorate holders as faculty.[4]Also, the university has a largest research publication output than any other higher learning institution of the country. Its owner and Chancellor is a Pakistani businessman Mr. Hunaid Vice Chancellor is Dr. U. A. G. Isani, Retired Civil Servant Government of Pakistan.
