I had a conversation with an older gentleman yesterday while at the apple butter festival. As we began discussing things that are happening in America today, he started voicing his great displeasure with Obama and his terrible policies. After we finished talking about the the arrogance and ineptness of the current occupant of the White House, he said something that made me very sad. He said, Thats why we need Rahall up there to fight for us. I immediately replied, Sir, you do realize the man you just praised fully supports the man you just spoke ill of dont you?. He nodded. I could say nothing more. I simply shook my head and thought to myself how sad it is for a man nearly twice my age who has experienced so much more history than than I have, has learned so little from it. Then I thought about a quote from Edmond Burke and decided there needed to be a second part added to it. Those who dont know history are doomed to repeat it....and often drag the rest of us down the in sewer with them.
