I had a full on period in life were I read a ton of self help and spiritual books etc! I spent decent time and money doing Athony Robin type courses to try and meet my inner child! locked away in a room from 7am till 11pm for days on end with a bunch of other people looking for something is bound to leave you (I imagine) like you have had your first disco biscuit at the holdern pavilion at the height of its dance party days! Of course you will feel elevated and enlightened for a period of time with the fellow men and women who stripped themselves bare! But like the dance party, the lights came on, and you had to head home and get on with your life! Anyway all of that did some good for a while (to a degree), but nearly losing your life overseas in 09, have 3 people die this year which included standing next to a body that rolled a tear before her last breath on thrusday, a 9 yr old chasing after his dads coffin crying as its being taken to a hearse, having someone with only enough life in him to show he needs to go by pushing the blanket into his throat, and spending 3 to 4 days in either a hospital, palliative care, and nursing homes since April, has had a better affect! Im a slow learner, but all that stuff has all but done the trick! For a chronic worrier Im finally not sweating the small stuff (god bless new York times best seller lists), but at the same time, what a hell of a crash course! Sorry for the heavy subject matter, but Im a Scorpio, and we delve into this stuff sometimes! It was, and has been very trippy stuff! Life is what happens to you while you are making other plans! I have lost family and friends before, but this year has felt like nothing but! Very intense! Sort of shoving at you to grow up!
