I had a great discussion the other day with a coworker. We were talking about his video and he said one of the reasons he feared getting tested was because he didnt feel like he would have had too many people he could share it with. He didnt doubt that he would be able to live a full life he just isnt the kind of person that like everyone in his life to know his business. This is because he has grown to be distrustful of people not because theyre bad, but because they are unpredictable. Because of that he didnt want to put himself in a situation where he would be given information that could forever alter his life when he didnt feel like he could trust anyone to share it with. As he said I already came out once, Im not trying to do it again. I didnt choose to be gay, But I can choose when I want to face knowing my status. I was REALLY taken back. The fear of that possibility is so strong it overpowered his fear of not knowing his status. We than both came to the conclusion that its hard to put yourself in a vulnerable situation (finding out your status/seeking treatment) when we as a Black Gay community dont seem to trust easily (this applies to those in and out of the community). It doesnt really matter how it got that way, but where do we take it from here? #thepozlife #trustissues #whyarentyougettingtested https://youtube/watch?v=Dd5BIShu1qc
