I had a most awesome night over with the ladies of Pearl Jam. I avoided Mormon General Conference like the plague. I wanted to just avoid it altogether, having read reports of how anti-gay and how hateful their family values talks were. Even Troys comments over on Mormons Burning...errr.. Building Bridges were censored by MBBs leaders. They must have been spot on. He said he spoke of how LD$, Inc. and their Profits (purposely misspelled) hurt the LGBT community. Then I read the posts on another group I belong to. A dear friend posted: Tonight I found out, Tuesday her gay son killed himself due to LD$ Inc.s doctrine. Very sad! He was 17 and one of cutest, most gentle, young men I have known. Im just... feeling hurt and disconnected... and totally vexed at how hateful these people who profess to follow Christ can be. More vexed at how totally oblivious and defensive they are when their bullying is called out. With apologies to those of the Mormon faith who are working to end discrimination... Tonight.... I hate Mormons. Tonight... I hate those hateful old men in that Ivory Tower known as the Church Office Building. Im going to light another candle and say some prayers and send some smoke up to Wakan Tanka. Dream with the angels, yall.
