I had a really weird dream last night. I was a bit preoccupied this morning, but I think it was about how easy it is to do a lot of things in social media without any thought of how it could effect others. And well, its not really a thing, but...for some reason, I thought about a young guy who messaged a very popular girl, to explaining how he thought she looked pretty. He messaged her to have a nice day. He sent happy face images. Then, he finally decided to tell her how he felt about her. Perhaps he was inspired by her pages, her personality, and may as well have fallen in love with her internet persona. But he felt, for whatever reason, she put some type of positive impact on her life. The girl saw the messages but did not talk or respond. She continued to leave it until she was irritated enough to complain about it on her page. And then she posted a screencap of the conversation on her page and made a comment about how she didnt like creepers and called him disgusting. A lot of girls commented on how terrible he was. Unfortunately, she had forgotten to block him from viewing the image. And he saw it. He apologized for making her uncomfortable, but people kept getting on his case and calling him all sorts of names. He was blocked, deleted by people he thought were his friends, and was called the scum of the fandom community. A few days later, he committed suicide. No one really cared, but outside his world was pretty shitty, he was only able to make friends online because he was too shy to talk to people in person. .....It was a pretty vivid dream. And it made me really sad. But it reminded me of how socially awkward people can be, but they are people too. And I think its fair that if youre uncomfortable with someone, I think you should tell them. Perhaps, maybe it would help if they thought about it and changed a different tune. I dont know if this works for everyone. Some people can really be jerks. But I dont...know why I feel so strongly against this, but I do. So...thats all, I didnt know what else to say.
