I had a very nice opportunity today to speak on behalf of Mr. Rhodes at the Democratic Unity Rally. Mr. Rhodes was busy today working for the Maryland State Police patrolling Bike Week at Ocean City. This is an event he works every year and had committed to long before we knew about todays event. The Democratic Rally was held at the Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center and was well attended and had delicious food provided by Its The Pits! Anyhow, I was thinking about what I wanted to say yesterday and two things happened that changed my mind about what I would say. The first thing was a picture I saw on facebook that I have included in this post, the second was a question posed to me by someone I was speaking with. Someone asked me, What kind of leader will Mr. Rhodes be and will he be able to be successful with a lack of administrative experience? I was able to reply easily to this question, he will be an amazing leader. Mr. Rhodes is smart and gives everything he has to his job that he loves. He is also smart enough to surround himself with people that are knowledgeable and experienced and this is exactly what he will do for our county. Mr. Rhodes will create an impeccable team of people that together with him as their leader will be able to accomplish all the goals that he has in mind. That same person had stated that everyone knows that Mr. Rhodes is a great boots on the ground cop, this in turn will make him a leader for the Queen Annes County Sheriffs Department, not just a boss. There are many people that can be a boss but very few that can successfully lead a team of people, Mr. Rhodes has all these capabilities and more. He has often stated to me, One person can change things but just think of what a great team can do! I have every faith in his abilities to administer and lead our department. Mr. Rhodes was able to lead a team of men in the Army, he has been a leader by setting high standards for himself and those around him for thirty three years with the State Police and I know he will continue to do so when he is elected on November 4th! Thanks! Karen Schinault
