I had the most intense conversation with Amy, the Indian Hindu - TopicsExpress

I had the most intense conversation with Amy, the Indian Hindu receptionist at the hotel here in Waukegan, ILL. She is 42 years old, and immigrated to the USA 18 years ago, after studying medicine in Bangalore, India. Her roots are both Nepalese and Indian. She is very articulate, knowledgeable in various religions, and excited that I knew much of her world and experiences. She was married and divorced to a Hindu, almost married a Muslim, and dated a Christian Pentecostal. She yearns to go back to medical training. In the course of our conversation, she alluded to the Upanishads, the ancient holy books of Hinduism, in which in there is a portion in the section called, Isavasya Upanishad where there is the promise of a coming ruler, born of a virgin, known as the god of peace, along with numerous parallels with the life and death of Jesus. Indeed, Isa is the word in many languages used for Jesus. I am interested in further conversations with her. Every meeting is a divine encounter; Every meeting is an exchange of gifts. Today, I meet with my friend, Scott Long, the bus ministry convert as a boy, who has donated his coupon so that I can stay tonight free of charge in the famed Fairmont Hotel near Lake Front, Chicago (minimal night cost, $245, parking $65, internet, $14). There are so many surprise blessings on this Christian journey. My meeting with the Hispanic Bible College is this evening and much rides on it.
