I hate people complaining about remakes when they are oblivious to the fact that said film is almost 30 years old! The film is dated (hell, the pic of Gibson with a cig dangling out of his mouth isnt something you see anymore) but many of the things that made it a great action film (the suicide cop storyline, former special forces ace turned cop, Murtaugh and his agisim) can easily be done again. Just please get Shane Black to do the script, 50% of what made it work was the witty script, the other half the actors.
