I hate that there are Caucasian people, even Caucasian liberals that say Oh Im not racist I voted for Barack Obama. Or Im not a racist my friends are black. Or Im not racist Im dating a black person. And use that as some kind of Get out of racism free card. Then they hypocritically use the N word and still insult African Americans and only respect African Americans who are rich and have the same statuses as these ignorant Caucasians do. They will still ignorantly mock African people in many cultures like Kenyan, Zimbabwean, Ethiopian, Swahilean, Timbuktuean, Cambodian, Afrikaans, or Ugandan people and say Oh gross look at how naked they are, look at how filthy and poor they are. Look at how ugly their clothes are. Look at how stupid they look with those tribal tattoos and jewelry. They look so stupid I am glad black people here dont look like that. Completely disrespecting their culture entirely. Its like America has candy coated racism where some white people are still very incredibly racist and ignorant towards African culture and laugh at it and mock it. Some white people in America still stereotype Africans and say they look like savages. Not acknowledging the fact that some people from Africa have Tumblr and Facebook accounts, use computers, wear clothes, and listen to the same music we like and are a lot like us. Africa is not a tribal only continent. Its extremely multiculturally diverse. Not all African Americans listen to rap and hip hop. Not all African Americans wear grillz, bling, and big necklaces and hoop earrings looking gangsta. And if you use your black friend as a scape goat for your racism, stereotyping, and intolerance you clearly have issues. Lets face facts not all white liberals are as open minded as the media thinks they are some of them in fact are just as stupidly ignorant as the rest of the bunch. Only people that actually interact with people from Africa understand the truth. Only people from Peace Core or people who travel or actually meet traditionally African people and watch real documentaries on different diverse countries in Africa actually have a clue. There are white people that live in Africa too it isnt exclusively a continent full of people of one complexion or race. And mocking their culture is racist. And thinking that you voted for a black president is suddenly you not being a racist is such a load of bullshit. I understand some white liberals get it, and do study and understand African Culture. But kids my age still think Africans are uncultured and uncivilized and its really narrow minded. The American form of racism is very candy coated and the tolerance is all make believe. If a Republican disagrees with Obama not because he is an African American president but because a Republican white guy just simply disagrees with his politics because he is a democrat. He suddenly gets the racist card of shame and gets attacked by the media. And suddenly everyone thinks that one Republican white guy was being a racist. Completely ignoring real racial hate crimes that happen to African Americans or real intolerances that people do to African immigrants everyday that are real racist issues. Its all dumb media distraction and doesnt focus on any real prejudices that actually happen in this country. Its okay to disagree with a black person it doesnt make you a racist. A lot of white people who are friends with black people have their disagreements you cant agree on everything completely, everyone thinks differently, thats not racism thats just being human. Having disagreements on Barack Obama is totally fine. Just dont call him a nigger or a sand nigger like the more racist Republicans do. And dont mock a black person for they way they look or call all black people ugly. That is hateful. But disagreeing with Obamas politics is not Oh my God so racist! Mocking African cultures however IS racist. Hating on a culture from Africa and being ignorant about African Americans and then suddenly voting for Obama and being a white liberal doesnt completely make you a non racist, non intolerant person. The fact is Americans still have prejudices despite there being an African American president. We still know so little about Africa. A lot of white people still know so little about African Americans that live here. We still know so little about other countries like Kenya and Uganda. We still think that we are better than them, and that our culture is better than theirs is. And that is racism. But using Obama as an excuse as not being racist is dumb. I still see some white liberals mock African culture, and mock black celebrities for the way they look calling them ugly. And when you call them out for it oh boy here we go Im not a racist I voted for Barack Obama. Im not a racist my friends are black. Great scape goat. Honestly its just excuses. If you still stereotype black people or African American people in a certain way that is still racism. If you think that some African people from Africa are less civilized than you that is racist. If you think voting for Barack Obama suddenly gives these white ignorant racist voters special treatment thats insane. Just because you have a black friend or voted for Obama doesnt suddenly mean you know everything about African American and African cultures. Racism and ignorance end when a person walks in their shoes and understands their prejudice. When a person open mindedly understands that everyone in that race is not all the same and are actually very diverse, that is when the racism ends. Voting for a person whos African American but still being intolerant of black people doesnt exclude you from that equation. And I dont like that some white social justice bloggers from Tumblr are still very insulting to African culture and when reprimanded for it they think they arent a racist because they like Obama. Such bullshit.
