I hate to report this, Folks, but we need to be careful how we use our Credit Cards, Bank Cards, Debit Cards, whatever ID out there. I am now among the ranks called Identity Theft. My banks Fraud Department called me yesterday about an unusual transaction on my Bank Card number which in turn automatically comes out of my checking account. Thank Heavens they were on their toes before any more was taken out. I did not make that charge to my account. Over $300.00 was charged online to some using my Bank Card account number which means they also had my Expirtation Date, Name, and maybe code on the back that some businesses are now asking for unless some slip shod place. I found out that part of the equation includes London !!! They shut my Card down immediately, but now I have to wait for a new one through the mail and have bills to pay! I do NOT bank online nor purchase anything online to protect my info. Someone where I charged locally had to have noted my info or with some of my bill paying, which is supposed to be anonymous and automatic and deleted after payment. But, there are always ways around ANYTHING that is labeled secure. Im contacting everyone that I charged at recently to check their systems and who had this information last at their companies. I had to go into my bank personally and fill out paper work to dispute this charge and try to get my money back. This crook is costing me money, time, and effort! My Bank and my local Police are working on this. I hope they catch him/her, and I find out who it is.
