I have OCD by Susan Haskins DeClercq (Obsessive Chicken Disorder). You may have it too if: 1) you have more than 1 chicken, and decide you like them .. then you realize you love them - and named them. 2) you know what chicken math is and understand it - much better than the math they teach in school. 3) you post alot about your chickens on FB, including pictures and videos. You look for groups who share your OCD. Strangers on FB become your friends - and you know each other by name, names and pictures of each others chickens, as well as the snacks your chickens had that day. 4) It is common place to have chicken poop everyhere, and having it on the bottom of your shoe or on your back is considered normal. 5) you greet your chickens with high pitched voices, and they respond to you. 6) you feed your chickens a nice warm oatmeal breakfast or maybe some scrambled eggs, while the rest of the family either waits or eats cold cereal. 7) you understand chicken speak. You know what each sound your chicken makes and what it means. If your chicken makes a new sound, you will post that sound on FB so you can get an accurate translation. 8) you have either bathed or blow dried a chicken, if not both. 9) everything is timed by dusk and dawn. You need to be home at dusk to close the coop door, and up at dawn to open it. Eventually you consider an automatic chicken door. 10) you know what the chicken song is, and smile when you hear it. 11) you go hunting for eggs when it is not Easter. 12) you tell everyone you know, and everyone you dont know - that your chicken layed its first egg .. even tho it doesnt look quite right. Of course there is a picture to go along with that! 13) you cant resist walking by that peeps pen at the feed store. Your mind quickly tries to figure out where you might be able to fit a few new peeps in. 14) a perfect afternoon is sitting and watching your chickens doing what chickens do. 15) you have either brought a chicken into your house, or let one walk in on their own. 16) you know what the chicken waddle run is, and you cant help but chuckle each time you see it. 17) you have smelled your chicken. 18) you have asked other chicken owners for advise. 19) you are more aware of what is in the sky, and on the ground than any non chicken owner. 20) you have found you could probably pass the vet exam on chicken illnesses / treatments, and injuries. Plus you have more emergency supplies and meds on hand for your chicken than any dog or cat you have ever owned. 21) you have watched u tube how tos relating to chickens 22) you have had eggs for breakfast AND for dinner. 23) you have kept a collection of eggs just to look at. 24) you laugh when one of your chickens finds a nice big bug in the yard, announces it to the others, and watch them play a game of keep away. 25) you have cried or know you will cry when they come to their end.
