I have a 2 month old (as of today) right sided hernia son. He was diagnosed at birth when he wasnt breathing and was rushed to NICU and flight lifted to our nearest childrens hospital in Birmingham, AL. He didnt have to have ecmo, had surgery at 1 week old, is on just the regular nasal cannula (most of the time he moves it onto his forehead so half the time he isnt even using it) has a nasal feeding tube and theyre planning a date to put in the g-tube and almost done weening him off the methadone so that way we can work on going home. He is very acid refluxy, poor baby but otherwise you would never guess anything is wrong with him, hes working on trying to hold his head up by himself. We have had many nurses say that he is one of the best hernia babies they have dealt with because of how fast he is going through this. My only concern is his feet. They are still curved like they were in the womb. Ive had one nurse say they are clubbed feet, the nurse practitioner said they may straighten out and Ive had another one say they are more than likely going to need corrective surgery. I know its normal but cdh babies to have abnormalities, but am I the only one with the crooked curved feet? (Even though they are adorable, lol) ~Kirsten Booth
