I have a favor to ask. I received an email this morning from Maroon State of Mind, an SEC Sports/Mississippi State Blog. They suggested that I share the TWAS THE NIGHT AFTER BEATING THE #2 TEAM poem in as many places as I can find! Would you guys mind helping me? If you dont want to share it on your personal page, will you try and think of a State fan, or a page of some kind that you can share it on? If you have any ties to Mississippi State University or Mississippi State Football, that would be great too! Thanks!! TWAS THE NIGHT AFTER BEATING THE #2 TEAM Twas the night after beating the #2 team, Every creature was stirring, it felt like a dream. The cowbells were ringing all through the night StarkVegas was truly a magnificent sight! When finally the Bulldogs fell into bed We had visions of nationwide polls in our heads Some in maroon and some dressed in white We all tossed and turned, anxious for daylight As the sun finally rose, we sprang from our slumber Everyone anxious to confirm our number! Everyone’s hearts beating out of our chests… Awaiting the news that the DAWGS are the best! Some checked with Google, while others checked Twitter Some got on Facebook, but ALL had the jitters! When what to our wondering eyes did appear? Guess no more, the answer was clear! Clear as the bells that have rung through the years Clear as the Bulldog team’s sweat and tears The Associated Press, and the coaches, too ALL determined that FSU should be 2 Then the prettiest sight I ever did see Was finally in writing…and the experts agreed! I looked out my window toward Heaven above To give God the Glory for showing the love… When up in the sky was the oddest of sights A Seminole, a War Eagle, and Black Bear in flight! Their heads were hung, and expressions were sullen As they paid their respects to Coach Dan Mullen Coach Mullen was dressed in maroon, head to toe He shook their hands and said, “I want you to know… The Bulldogs feel no need to ‘talk smack’ We have our own language, it’s called ‘Talking DAK Now, you’ll have to excuse me…there are more games to play Each one is important…new game...new day To my Bulldog fans..you chose to BELIEVE! Your unconditional support has helped us achieve! Historys been made...MISSISSIPPI STATE Is #1 IN THE NATION...theres no more debate! ~ Kimberlie Helton 10/11/14
