I have a hard time trusting people who say they dont like to read. Folks who are not etymology-curious confuse me. I often wonder if Im the same species as people who do that thing where they have to kill people on a video screen but who wont be caught dead doing a crossword puzzle or sitting down to play Scrabble. I sometimes get so excited by clever word play and phrasings, such as in song lyrics, that I think Im going to explode from pleasure. I often feel like the most inarticulate, bumbling and blabbering, simple-minded fool in a room. If I talk to someone for 20 minutes, I will spend the next three hours going over my every word and finding fault with every attempt at a sentence or word that I made. I shouldnt be let out of a library.
