I have a huge favour to ask everyone. There is an alleged horse - TopicsExpress

I have a huge favour to ask everyone. There is an alleged horse rescue in Giza near the pyramids that I have been really concerned about for some time now. There are actually two of them, one is Prince Fluffy Kareem aka PFK, which oddly enough blocks its Facebook page in Egypt so that no one here can see it. The other, The Egypt Horse Project, however, is a much more problematic group. This was started by a young woman, an Australian called Ashleigh Lotherington who came here with another young woman a couple of years ago. I have watched closely as shes developed her rescue since she was living with a friend of mine at first, and everyone knows that I know her. This young lady is extremely adept at swaying emotions and convincing people that she is the saviour of horses and donkeys in the Nazlet Semman area and thereby collecting quite a lot of money to keep them...except that most of the money never makes it to the animals. Most of her supporters are not in Egypt so her pictures and narration are taken as gospel and anyone who is stupid enough to suggest that they might not be true is hounded and blocked on the site. I experienced this first hand when I suggested that she could find some needed medication, supplies and feed nearby rather than asking that they be sent from abroad. All the funds for this rescue go directly to her private accounts and there is no transparency whatsoever. I went to visit the stables on Wednesday June 18 in the company of my friend who had been Ashleighs host when she first came...shes also been banned, blocked, insulted and threatened by Ash and her minions. We went with a vet from The Brooke and rather inadvertently one of her supporters. We suspect that the supporter knowing that the Brooke visit stables on Wednesdays suggested that they visit TEHP having warned them that The Brooke was coming so they should clean up and look good. While we were there, I ran the video on my camera in some bursts to record what was happening, and this was a very good thing because just after we left we were forwarded a message that she claimed that her assistant at the stable (Shes been in Australia the last four months, leaving a groom in charge of the stable) had just contacted her and that my friend and I had beaten down the doors, gone inside screaming abuse and that my friend had injured one of her dogs by kicking it. Not a word of this was true and my videos prove this. If you could please share these with horse friends all over, it would help a lot. These are quiet conversations with the young man taking care of the stable, the vet and the young supporter. No kicking. No screaming. No dogs were harmed in the process. Thanks so much
