I have a question. We hear and see so much in posts (especially VS. posts) about prep time. I get the concept and dont begrudge others for using it, occasionally. But it gets overused, I think. Anyway, what character, hero or villain, has been actually shown to use prep time as a part of their tactical strategy? What was the actual scenario of the fight or campaign? What I am really asking for is an example of the longest time for prep time anybody has seemed to use? I can think of three lengthy prep times...: -(1) Batman - coming up with the protocols to take down all of the JLA. (It mustve taken a couple of years.) -(2) Dr. Doom - in a Fantastic Four/X-men crossover, in the 80s, it was revealed that Doom had planted a journal completely forged to look like it was written by Reed Richards, that implicated Richards as knowledgeable and guilty of the intent to create the accident that created the Fantastic Four. Meaning, he knew Johnny would become the Torch, Ben would become the thing, and so on. The plot by Doom nearly broke up the FF. (It was a plan that mustve taken decades to hatch.) -(3) Ozymandias - The whole plan to frame Dr. Manhattan and get him off planet by staging his cancer causing radioactivity. Basically Ozys whole plan for the squid (book) or bomb (movie) in the last part of Watchmen. (Again, the plan mustve taken decades to hatch.)
