I have a thought. Since I joined the group, Ive seen a few posts from people suggesting we create an album of photos of plants most commonly asked about, but the conundrum is always how to steer them to it. Ive noticed that these plant ID requests always travel in packs - as the plants come into bloom, people suddenly start asking about them, and well have 6 ID requests for mullein or pokeweed in swift succession, and sometimes we barely wrap up a thread about a plant, when someone starts another thread on the exact same plant. So why not choose one of those plants as the Group Photo. Then as ID requests flux and change, we change the Group Photo with them and anticipate ID requests instead of responding to them over and over again. Other common ID requests are for poison ivy, poison sumac and poison oak (or Virginia creeper), as well as pokeweed, ground elder, etc. Then if there is a lull in ID requests, perhaps the Group Photo can be of a species plant, with helpful hints in the text on how to identify it, and distinguishing characteristics, to teach people so they can learn to identify plants themselves. Just a thought.
