I have a wee question for you all, i filmed Lily on Friday in a freshly harvested field of wheat it was raining, she was near the A1 motorway that was droning in the background, therefore she had two senses being confused her hearing and her nose. She ventured further up the field although it doesnt show really how far away she was as I had the camera on full zoom. Anyway she is just mooching about as all dogs do, then suddenly she decide to come towards me, on her way back she stops and faces the gigantic straw bale stares and sniffs the air. Now the question is, how did she know it was there she has no eyes so it wasnt a shadow, did she sense it or feel it loom up on her. It is things like this that totally fascinate me i see it time and time again. When she had her blind eye i settled for the fact that she maybe caught shadows in her eye, but she has no eyes now. She was totally relaxed when i filmed this yet she seemed to avoid all the bales, an obvious answer i expect but i am intrigued as to how she knows when there is something there that isnt normally there. I just love to watch her and try to understand how she fathoms things out, how she overcomes an obstacle, why she does certain things, everyday i learn something new from her, she is so independent that i am always amazed at her. x
