I have a wonderful story to tell, so stay with me here as i explain the progression. This proves what i truly believe, that if a butterfly flaps its wings in California, it creates a ripple effect and it is felt on the other side of the world. Last season, I bought a pool cover from a Pool Co here in NJ. The Pool Guy had promised me that this special cover would prevent my pool from opening green, so I went for it. Long story short: it opened green and stayed that way until we closed it two days ago. I called the Pool Guy back and told him. He, being a man of his word, sent me a refund check for 50% of the purchase price. With that money, I decided to replace my ghetto looking window shades, which are old and broken, with some nice new bamboo ones so took myself off to Lowes. I explained to the Lowes Associate, that when these damn shades snapped up spontaneously, it scared the living shit out of my dogs. She laughed and said she would love to have a dog to come home to at night but they werent allowed in her apt. complex so she goes home at night to an empty house. As she was cutting the blinds to my specifications, I noticed she was wearing a bandana, and under that was bald. She happily said while cutting the blinds, that they were so Beautiful, and that as soon as she paid off all of her hospital bills, she was going to buy them for herself. I asked her if she was undergoing chemo, and she brightly said I JUST FINISHED!! Now all I have is radiation to get through and Im done. She once again, told me that if she could just have a dog, her life would be complete. I heard inside of me the words I needed to say and spoke them out loud: Why not volunteer at a shelter and walk dogs to help them get adopted? That way, you could still spend time with them, and do some good while you are at it. She was amazed at this idea and told me she was off the next day and would go straight to the pound and volunteer. I started crying like a baby right then and there in the middle of Lowes, in Brick, NJ. We hugged goodbye. There are no chance meetings in this world; no accidents. We are all connected here; The Great Family of Man.
