I have accepted The ALS Association #IceBucketChallenge from Jose and Jess, and in learning that the ALS Association is at the forefront of the global research effort to find treatments and a cure for ALS, I nominate my friends around the globe: Steven-and Alexandria Arnold, Wayne Bhika, and Steve Moore. Remember that this challenge is not only about awareness, but also about fundraising to find a cure. Name of the game is to make a $10 donation while performing the challenge or donating $100 (or more) if you choose to defer. As of Tuesday, August 19, The ALS Association has received $22.9 million in donations compared to $1.9 million during the same time period last year (July 29 to August 19). These donations have come from existing donors and 453,210 new donors to The Association. I honestly feel that if ANYONE has witnessed the #IceBucketChallenge and not been specifically called out, then you can still choose to #StrikeOutALS and participate with giving a donation and completing the challenge!
