I have always liked the styling of American Flat track racing - TopicsExpress

I have always liked the styling of American Flat track racing bikes. The sport was ruled by Harleys XR750 but in 1975 Yamaha came out with the most insane Flat Tracker that the sport had seen. Ridden at The Indy Mile by Kenny Roberts - the 2-stroke 4 cylinder engine was straight out of the current Yamaha TZ750 Grand Prix bike and produced around 125bhp. Enough to achieve 150mph on the straights. Roberts gave the ride of his life and at the end of his victorious race he stated Yamaha dont pay me enough to ride that bike. The bike was outlawed by the AMA the same year. It remains the maddest Flat Tracker ever. Kenny Roberts and the Tee Zee were reunited in 2009 for a demonstration run at the Indy Mile. The video of this historic occasion is one I can watch over and over again. youtube/watch?v=8k8hJWKIVNs
