I have always loved being outdoors, in the Garden, in the Bush, at The Beach. As a kid we spent time Camping in the Bush & also grew up in a Deadend Street with Bush at the end so I have had many tick bites over the years. When I moved to North Avoca in the late 1990s I went about creating a Native Garden to attract wildlife. I also have done a fair bit of Bush Regeneration in the Bushland behind us around the Lagoon and have had lots of grass ticks on me many times. Early 2012 I was Gardening & got covered in grass ticks approx 90-100 tiny little grass ticks, often with grass ticks you dont know they are on you till they have sucked your blood for a while & then a black dot appears in the middle of an itchy bite looking bump. Once I realised what was making me itchy I had A bi-carb soda bath to make them drop off, 1 cup per bath, they dislike the Akalinity of Bi-carb, I had 3 baths over 2 days to get rid of them all, then was left insanely itchy so made up a bottle of Lavendar & Tea Tree in water in a spray bottle & sprayed that over the areas & it would stop the itch for almost an hour, during this time I had a bit of a temp & felt a bit nauseous. I got over that within a few days & then didnt think much more of it, then exactly a week after the bites I started feeling really sick & had a body type flu, i felt rotten! Forced myself to go to work at The Farm & pushed myself.....then one night I lay on my bed & couldnt move my body was like a lead weight! that was scary! A friend of mine had a Body type flu at the time so i just thought I had that! I got over this Flu within a few days then a week after flu hit me I start to get sore aching joints.....(during this whole time I had Lymes Disease popping up in the back of my head but I kept ingoring it) I just thought the soreness was from the hard work at the farm....then it really dawned on me I should google Symptoms of Lymes Disease & nearly fell of my chair as it said almost word for word what i had experienced so far!!!!!
