I have always loved the law. I spend as much time as I can in court listening and learning the law. Over the years there have been a few things that I have learned that I did not think was right. My main gripe is that in domestic court. In domestic mainly deals with restraining orders and no contact orders. Within that court you have a judge a clerk a bailiff and in some cased a lawyer. There are also two united way appointed females that are there to assist the battered females (plaintiffs) that are there to file for restraining orders against their estranged spouse either current husband or ex-husband or current boyfriend of ex boyfriend. The problem I have with this is, I have watched the united way paid assistants coach the females (plaintiffs) on how to tell the judge their situation. I don’t think it’s fair. I know that women get beat down all the time and I agree that they need help and deserve help. I also believe that restraining orders are needed. This One case sticks in my mind. While in court one day, this female had already seen the judge and told him her whole story (without a single tear in her eyes.) After hearing her case He told her that she did not have enough info to warrant him writing a restraining order. He told her to go speak with the court assistants and they would help her rewrite her complaint. At that point I was not going to leave without knowing the outcome. While waiting I with my own eyes watched and heard one of the two united way assistants tell a female (plaintiff) and I quote” I know this judge well so if you cry it will help him decide the case in your favor.” Once court was in session again the judge called her up again and this time right after the first sentence the tear started to flow and the judge told someone to bring her a tissue. After she was done speaking the judge wrote the order. I was sick and still am I know that judge and that was crooked. I later wrote him a letter and he never replied but I did not expect him to. Ps. People lie and people suck!
