I have an out of the ordinary but very special request. I am prepping to teach my very first 45 hour breastfeeding course. I am in need of breast photos. Both nonlactating and lactating normal breasts (although if you have unusual breasts- I would really like photos of those too). Faces will not be included in the shots. Breasts of women of color are especially in demand. Please be assured I am a breastfeeding educator (as most of you already know) and these photos will be used for educational purposes only and by me or my Uzazi Village breastfeeding and midwifery instructors only. They will not be for sale and will not be posted on any website or Facebook page. I will take the photos with my personal phone, download the photos to my personal computer and upload them to my Google Drive HIPAA complient files that no one else has access to where they will be stored. From there I will place them in my educational powerpoints with copyright restrictions applied. The photos are not meant to be recognizable in anyway. If I publish research in the future, the images might be used for research purposes as well. I would like to take photos tomorrow at Uzazi Village and while I am in LA for the next week. I am not a professional photographer and the photos will be of a clinical nature only. Anyone volunteering for this will have to sign a release and taking the pictures will take about 10 minutes of your day. I plan to take 5-6 images of each person from various angles in optimal lighting in a private setting. Please let me know if you would be willing to contribute to the body of science of lactation in this way. The images will be greatly appreciated by me and my future students and will help to prepare them for their role as lactation peer counselors, educators, and consultants. If any of my lactation ethicists out there find flaws in this request that need to be addressed, please let me know.
