I have been asked a lot recently about my thoughts on what is going on with the vote in Scotland and their succession from the sovereignty. I am deeply concerned about how the country will fair on its own. I fear that the socio-economic ramifications could throw the country into a dead spin. They would be removed from NATO and EU which would cause military bases to exit leaving huge numbers of unemployed. Large businesses like the Royal Bank of Scotland have said they would have to leave the country as well if the vote succeeds. I think Scotland can get to a place where they can succeed but I believe that they need more time to prepare. I can only hope that those who cast their vote on Thursday have the wisdom to see all the impacting factors before they vote.
