I have been getting bombarded with questions about the movie - TopicsExpress

I have been getting bombarded with questions about the movie American Sniper and my thoughts about the movie... I had a hard time watching it and it brought up a lot of emotion that I have put a lot of effort into trying to deal with but ended burying it deep into a dark space in my soul. I immediately felt the pain of how it feels to lose a brother on the battle field, the anger, sadness, confusion, and chaotic thoughts that ensue such an event. The desire to get even and strike for redemption. The feelings of knowing that killing them because they killed one of ours will never make it feel better, but wanting to do so regardless. The emotion of being in war then back at home and repeating this process also struck home hard. The movie was well made and I will never talk down on the guys I served with or those that went before and after me. There is no way to correlate the roller coaster of that lifestyle through movies, stories, publications, it is just something that those who have not been in war will never fully grasp. So if I get asked about the movie more I am going to probably unload and ton of thoughts on you, more than you want to know, probably the kind of thoughts that should be kept to myself but will pour out of my mouth just to reinforce the idea that maybe somethings are better kept locked away from the people under the blanket of security.
